Malne on the Route through Madrid's Designer Fashion: a visit to the atelier

A few days before the awards ceremonyMalne was the protagonist of a report broadcasted by Telemadrid, within the second edition of the ".Spanish Designer Fashion Routes". This is an initiative of the Asociación Creadores de Moda de España (ACME) that traces a tour of 46 boutiques, flagship shops and ateliers that make Madrid a city devoted to contemporary fashion, without renouncing craftsmanship or its cultural heritage.
It was an occasion to offer an intimate look at Malne's atelierwhere Paloma Álvarez and Juanjo Mánez personally receive their clients. The space evokes the spirit of the haute couture ateliers of the 20th century, but with a fully contemporary aesthetic and functionality.
Although focused on summer commissions, the team was already working on its next collection: Frida 21. A proposal inspired by the universe of Frida Kahlo and reinterpreted from a contemporary perspective, which promises to become one of her most personal and ambitious developments.

After Chanel's performance, came one of the most engaging moments of the night. Aitor Albizua, together with Paloma Álvarez and Juanjo Mánez, founders of Malne, presented the Best Presentation Award: New Formats Juan Vidal. In their intervention, they put on the table one of the sector's great unresolved issues: dignity in production. A necessary wake-up call in an industry that can and should also set an example.
Participating in a night like this responds to the same principle that guides each garment that is born in the atelier: commitment to the craft, respect for the body and fidelity to a language that evolves without losing its roots. Malne's participation in the Spanish Fashion Academy Awards reaffirms a way of understanding design from the point of view of rigour and care.
