In fashion, details are rarely secondary. A piece of jewelry can change the radiance of a face, a shoe can transform posture, and a cape can lend solemnity to an entire ensemble. When we talk about a uniquely designed dress, every choice complements the main piece.

We talked with the Malne designers about that moment when the garment needs to choose its accessories. The interview covers common questions—how to choose jewelry, shoes, bags, or headpieces—from an atelier perspective, where luxury is understood as precision, support, and sensitivity towards the woman who wears the piece.

A uniquely designed dress is born with character. How do you begin to build everything that accompanies it?

«"Whenever we design, we see the whole picture. The woman who wears the garment, the accessories, we even imagine the environment in which she will wear it. It's not something secondary, it's a complete work of art."»Woman with prêt à couture look of luxury feminine fashion, with exclusive design and contemporary elegance for everyday wear.

Let's talk about jewelry. How do you decide which pieces work with a high-fashion dress and which might be too much?

«"Many of our clients have magnificent accessories and show them to us for our opinion. As with clothing, we consider overall harmony. There's no set code for what's perfect or not. Sometimes a very basic linen piece works beautifully with spectacular jewelry. Our experience as fashion editors for magazines gives us unique expertise, which our clients often trust."»

Shoes and a bag usually complete a guest's look. What recommendations do you have for choosing the right ones?

«"A trick that rarely fails is metallic accessories. They can complement almost any type of print, color, or cut. Nude tones also tend to work very well. The overall look should never overwhelm the guest, but rather enhance her."«

When does a dress need something more—a headdress, a cape, an outer garment—to complete its story?

«"The story always belongs to the person wearing the garment. Listening to her, attending to her personally, understanding her... is a fundamental part of the overall vision she will want to project.".
At Malne we make capes very often, especially in spring, due to the temperature changes, either as a single garment or attached to a dress.
The headdress and cape, if the event is in a major church, are usually essential.
But above all, whatever makes her feel happy and comfortable, above all conventions."»

After so many years dressing women for important moments, what mistakes do you see most often when accessorizing an exclusive dress?

«"Our clients let themselves be guided, so we rarely see mistakes. We often advise them even on their hairstyle."»
